If you or your partner struggle with addiction to pornography, love/sex, or alcohol/drugs then you need a therapist specifically trained to help. Signs of addiction and compulsivity include: being preoccupied with thoughts related to drug of choice (sex, porn, alcohol, drugs), hiding your behavior from others, hurting others emotionally because of your behavior, feeling controlled by the desire to use, or feeling depressed afterwards participating in your drug of choice (porn, sex, alcohol/drugs). A positive response to just one would indicate a need for additional assessment. Three or more indicates likely addiction present. Addictions are painful because you hurt those we love. You are also in pain. Change is possible. Change is possible with help and support from a therapist like myself who is specially trained in addictions.
