John Powell Baumann

I am a licensed mental health counselor with 30 years of experience of professional practice in Spokane. Specialty areas in my practice include treatment of mood disorders and anxiety, PTSD, problems of children and adolescents, difficult adjustments and bereavement, and chemical dependency or other addictive behaviors. My methods draw from several sources, including solution focused therapies, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems models. I have been employed most recently at Group Health Cooperative for 13 years, and have worked as a child and family therapist at Frontier Mental Health. I am a generalist practitioner, with an interest in the physical as well as emotional health of the persons I treat. I am committed to providing therapy services that will coordinate seamlessly with work medical and other care providers. I am open to helping clients from a broad range of age groups, from age 7 to 70, and offer work with parents, families and couples to coordinate care.
