I have worked in the field of addictions for over 15 years. People suffering from addictions and their families may have other underlying mental health issues such as trauma, depression and anxiety. Throughout my career, I have worked tirelessly with adults, adolescents, and as well as their families to address these issues and find a path to healing. My philosophy is simple: to treat the person in the surrounding environment, to see a person in the context of family, school, job, and community (and to evaluate the impact of these relationships), and to focus on the person’s strengths as well as embrace their difficulties. I am a licensed addiction professional and a licensed clinical social worker with experience treating adults, adolescents, and their families. I am an EMDR therapist and utilize psychodramatic techniques in my practice. I am a student of Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry approach and utilize holistic techniques when appropriate.
