Therapist Overview
I am specialized in the treatment of older persons. A major issue in aging is the Life Review, and working with persons involved in a Life Review is a primary focus of treatment with me. Erik Erikson has identified the need to resolve the crisis between having an awareness of having lived a meaningful life versus the sense of despair that comes with the feeling that one’s life has been meaningless. My work is informed in part by Logotherapy as set forth by Victor Frankl in “Man’s Search for Meaning.” I am also working from a theological focus on Spiritual Direction which is based on my training at Golden Gate Baptist theological Seminary where I received an M.Div. degree. I am also trained in the use of hypnotherapy for enhancing the Life Review process and in treating chronic pain. I trained in hypnotherapy at the American Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis and also the Milton Erickson Institute.
