I am a firm believer that anyone can benefit from therapy. I also think people have a natural tendency to want to be their best selves, but that at times things get in the way. My job is to help people realize their own potential, building on strengths that are already present and teaching coping skills along the way. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is regularly incorporated into therapeutic practice to help people break free from negative/self-destructive thought patterns. I also draw from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help with emotion regulation issues and interpersonal struggles. My experience as a counselor began when I started at the NC State University Counseling Center in 2013. Since then I have worked in inpatient hospitalization as well as private practice.
