Therapist Overview
For many, the world feels like an especially grim place right now, and finding healing is a challenge. My aim in therapy is to help you learn or rediscover ways of feeling, thinking and relating that work better for you and help you live a life you value. I draw primarily on narrative therapy in my practice, but use techniques from CBT, relational therapy, and other modalities as appropriate. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, that every life is multi-storied and that true understanding and healing requires examining power and privilege in society (including within the therapist’s office). I’m experienced in working with LGBTQIA+ folks, the kink and poly communities, and survivors of serious trauma. Though focused on sex and relationship therapy, I work with people with a large diversity of issues. I also understand that there are mental health challenges particular to activists, and aim to incorporate your values into our work together. I’m currently accepting individuals and couples for therapy. Please reach out and tell me a little bit about what you’re seeking therapy for. I’ll arrange a time to talk further by phone, answer any of your questions, and see if I might be a good fit as your therapist. *Note: if you contact me by email and don’t see a response, check your spam folder.*
