Therapist Overview
As your psychologist, I will listen to you with respect, in a safe and confidential relationship. I will offer fresh insights of past patterns and concerns and we will explore new ways to overcome obstacles and the challenges that you face. Developing resilience, grit, and utilizing strengths are an important part of my therapy. My therapy is informed by contemporary psycho-dynamic theory and also by current research into the best practices for therapists, including relational and attachment-based therapy. I have found these approaches integrate into a caring, comprehensive, and highly effective approach to therapy. My career has combined clinical practice, academic teaching, and clinical supervision, as a director of university psychology clinics and adjunct professor of psychology for 25 years (University of Michigan-Dearborn and University of North Carolina-Greensboro) and honored as Emeritus CAPS Director by AUCCCD for leadership and exceptional career service.
