If you find yourself feeling emotionally and mentally unsafe while simultaneously trying to make decisions that keep you safe, then you know the hypervigilance, the self-criticism, the fear, the persistent negative thoughts-the realities-that accompany this life. Survivor mode, although once necessary to endure traumatic experiences, only paints the world in less vibrant colors.
