Therapist Overview
My clients often struggle with anxiety, shame, and guilt that stems from experiencing an adverse event. Others struggle with debilitating generalized or social anxiety that interferes with their relationships or their ability to perform well at work. Some try to cope or inhibit their anxiety through substance use or other avoidance strategies. I also work with parents who are struggling to survive the sometimes turbulent years of adolescence and the transition into young adulthood by offering practical tips to reduce conflict and foster healthy independence. I attended The University of Montana where I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology and received training in family therapy and trauma treatment, with a research focus on the intersection of spirituality and adversity. I have spent the last decade helping people recover from unhealthy habits and anxiety symptoms and improve their most meaningful relationships. I offer evidence-based treatment in a safe and nonjudgemental way to facilitate recovery from emotional hurts and unhealthy habits. By the end of treatment, my clients often report that they feel less anxious and depressed, less controlled by unhealthy coping strategies, and improved relationships.
