Therapist Overview
It’s normal to feel unwell in an unjust world. Many of us are struggling to find care that recognizes the political in mental health, encourages creativity and difference, and focuses on experience over diagnosis. I aim to honor and meet these needs. If you’re feeling miserable or something’s not right, the problem isn’t that you’re too sensitive, sick in the head, “getting in your own way,” not thinking positively, or not trying hard enough. You are not failing at being happy. My approach is flexible and incorporates feminist, anti-racist, anarchist, and LGBTQIA-affirming practice. If it feels right for you, I can offer empowerment-focused knowledge, resources, and coping skills for us to experiment with. I have most to offer in these areas: trauma, painful relationships with food, loneliness, and healing from narcissistic abuse. We’ll figure out what feeling well/alive/free/safe means for you, how to move towards that, and what to do when the world around you systematically harms your health. I will never ask you to adapt to oppressive systems. I’m here to create a different experience with you that’s focused on being just what you need it to be! ***Video counseling available***
