I feel competent treating a wide range of presenting issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, struggles with transitions, marital issues, relational and work issues, and family or life traumas. I tailor my approach to the client’s needs, but tend to work within an analytic and systemic style. I see symptoms as serving a purpose and are often connected to some larger issues in a person’s life. I like to examine the current issues, but also assess for patterns in a person’s life that relate to the current issues. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults and enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I utilize a wide variety of techniques in my therapy, but place emphasis on the relationship with my clients. I care a great deal about people and see this is an asset in helping people feel comfortable being vulnerable. I like to create a safe environment where my clients can open up and examine their issues.
