Despair, anxiety, anger, hopelessness – being human means there are moments in a life that leave us stuck and alone in our feelings. Psychodynamic therapy can offer new ways of looking at life as we live it. It allows us to dream ourselves into a future – no longer bound by the limitations set by a prescriptive way of living. In giving oneself permission to become curious we find new ways of tuning into alternative registers of experience. We can find the freedom to live in ways we never imagined possible. Psychoanalytic training from the W.A. White Institute and Columbia Psychoanalytic, a 20-year yoga and mindfulness practice, and a background in filmmaking inform my belief that building new narratives expands the ways we see ourselves in relationship to our desires. I have a particular interest in issues around gender, sexualities, culture, loss, aggression, and trauma. I believe in the power of face to face connection and careful listening.
