We provide something a little bit different, we call it, Lifespan Recovery Management (LRM). It recognized that addiction is a chronic disorder, not a series of acute episodes. The people who come to LRM are those who are seeking help but want something other than traditional 12-step recovery. They prefer feeling empowered rather than powerless. They find having “choice” and “responsibility” attractive. People choosing LRM may be just beginning recovery or who have had difficulty remaining abstinent using other paths. We never malign other paths. LRM makes recovery without stigma or shame a reality. We do not use labels, e.g. alcoholic or addict, nor do we use stigmatizing language. We don’t have a chip system signifying multiple failures. LRM builds on success. Our cognitive behavioral-approach to treatment & recovery works well with the principles of Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART).
