Therapist Overview
My goal is to help children, adolescents, adults, and their families get back on track after anxiety has interfered with their lives. I specialize in evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and related conditions. I was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at Weill Cornell Medicine from 2011 to 2019, during which I split my time between providing CBT therapy to clients and training psychologists. In my private practice I have a deep commitment to helping people face their fears and return to the activities and relationships they value. Read more at hudsonrivertherapy.com I am primarily a cognitive behavior therapist (CBT), but have extensive training in third wave interventions. I blend elements of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT; values work, acceptance) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT; mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal skills) into my clinical work. I know that facing fears is difficult, so I bring my warm, collaborative, creative, and sometimes silly approach to support clients doing this challenging work. Feel free to contact me to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. I’d like to learn more about your goals, answer your questions, and see if my approach is a good fit for you.
