Therapist Overview
I am licensed in New Jersey as a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at a local college where I teach undergraduates psychology and sociology as well as a Ph.D student studying Clinical Psychology. I earned my Masterās Degree in Psychology from Northcentral University with CACREP accredited coursework in marriage and family therapy. I earned my Bachelorās Degree in Science, Letters and Society with a minor in psychology from the City University of New York, after which time I lived in a variety of states around the country as a military spouse. I have been trained in systems theory, which looks at the interaction and effect each aspect of a system has on another, whether it be a family or society as a whole. My particular approach to psychotherapy combines my systems theory training with clinical psychology and consists of evidence-based treatment methods. I believe in creating a therapeutic environment in which a patient can be free to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without judgement, with a psychotherapist who can provide insight that assists patients in identifying core values, schemas, and beliefs that are not serving them well.
