Kayla is foundationally trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Using these and other modalities of therapy- such as MBB, CBT, Attachment Theory, Shame Resiliency, Family Systems Theory, etc- Kayla operates in her sessions from a trauma-focused, shame resilience, and self-empowerment perspective. Kayla makes it a priority to individualize her therapy approach to meet each client and their family’s needs. Kayla personally enjoys exploring and working with all mediums of art and being outdoors with her friends, family, and dog on weekends. As a result, Kayla loves to implement experiential work outside, animal therapy, and art therapy into her sessions when appropriate.
