Therapist Overview
Therapy can be an intentional and nonjudgmental space that at its base offers the experience of being heard and acknowledged. Through empathetic and attuned presence, my goal is to provide a safe and comfortable space for people to process their experiences, name their feelings, uncover the roots and accept what arises. I support folks creating change in their lives and (re)shaping habits, patterns, and relationships to aid their healing. I incorporate an anti-oppression framework to help people acknowledge the impacts of structural & interpersonal violence/neglect as well as the traumas marginalized people face in everyday life. I’m a licensed associate therapist (LMHCA) supervised by Laura Alford (LMHC). I take a person-centered and trauma-aware approach that attends to the connection between body & mind. Let’s collaborate to create an individualized plan for therapy that will help you meet your goals. Leave a voicemail or e-mail [email protected] for an appointment! I can offer personal insight and understanding for concerns such as exploring one’s gender identity and sexuality, coming out, and the complicated dynamics of small communities. I also enjoy talking with people who are questioning how factors like “race”, class, age, and disability among others shape how they are experiencing their body & the world.
