Therapist Overview

If you are struggling with life transitions, grief/loss, relationship problems, parenting or caregiving stress, aging issues, terminal illness, infertility, mood concerns, substance use/addiction/codependency issues, career distress, self-esteem issues, or other adjustment concerns, I will be delighted to support you as your therapist. I’ve counseled in settings including hospice, detention centers, private practice, and community substance abuse and mental health centers. I’m also an author who researched/wrote collaboratively with many multicultural experts to publish the textbook “The Handbook for Multicultural Counseling.” Due to my belief that living fully in the present is critical to mental health, I primarily use therapeutic approaches that focus on cognitive insight and developing solutions behaviorally. I utilize techniques that help with developing ownership of problems for the purpose of maximizing choice and control over personal decisions/reactions to difficulties. Be pro
