Therapist Overview
Psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy offer a space to speak that is absolutely singular. It is a rare thing to be genuinely listened to. Free from the expectations and etiquette of other forms of speech, those who engage in psychoanalysis and therapy find themselves speaking in new and often surprising ways. It is here, in the moments at which elements of ourselves that had previously been unacknowledged become finally articulated, that we change: symptoms fall away, anxiety alleviates, repetitive forms of behavior and relation shift. The result is a process that is challenging, thrilling, and transformative. I work with those who feel stuck: in family, work, sex. By listening to you carefully, by receiving your speech and returning to you what is unknown within it, and by challenging you to begin to do the work of hearing yourself for yourself, I hope to make possible the emergence of your distinctive passions and an increased engagement with your own life. I see a wide range of clients: children in play therapy and adolescents and adults in both therapy and psychoanalysis. I have worked with people in creative fields and academia struggling with inhibition; with those struggling with anxiety, depression, and addiction; and with people who face issues related to sexuality, reproduction, and fertility.
