Therapist Overview
My work is organized around the principle of post traumatic growth (see Tedeschi & Calhoun). Extensive research has demonstrated that those people who have been traumatized who get better change 3 things: relationship with self; relationship with other people; relationship with philosophy or religion. I help the wonderful people who work with me make those changes. In fostering post traumatic growth, I conduct Psychodynamic analysis: I articulate complexes. I employ Cognitive Restructuring Therapy (as per Rian McMullin) to address adverse cognitive and emotional conditioning. Concurrently I employ elements of Positive Psychology in order to help you to creatively express your strengths. My mother taught nursing. My father was a physician, professor of medicine, and medical researcher. I have always been interested in the nature of consciousness and in the role conscious thought and conscious no thought–meditation–play in the healing process. I integrate science and spirituality.
