Daniel Rutimann

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of adolescents and young adults. I provide individualized treatment for clients with a variety of emotional and behavior problems – including depression, anxiety, anger, procrastination, school and work difficulties and trauma. I believe that effective treatment requires mutual trust and open communication between therapist and client and I strive to facilitate these conditions in my practice. My orientation is largely psychodynamic, which means that I believe that psychological change comes from an enhanced awareness and understanding of how our past experiences influence our current expectations, perceptions and behavior. However, I am also trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and incorporate elements of this treatment approach when appropriate.
