I approach therapy primarily from an interpersonal perspective, which views healthy relationships as key to emotional and psychological functioning. I strive to help my clients gain insight into the dynamics in their life that contribute to feelings of fear and sadness. I believe that therapy should be a challenging but ultimately rewarding experience, and I work to push clients outside of their comfort zone to create real change in their lives. I also help clients move away from avoidant ways of dealing with stress in their lives and toward strategies that increase self-esteem and provide their lives with meaning. My clinical experience has been working primarily in university counseling center and community mental health outpatient settings. My specializations are in treating couples and other relationship concerns, anxiety disorders, mood disorders including depression, and behavioral addictions.
