Sensorimotor Psychotherapy focuses on addressing unresolved trauma.

As a result of trauma, a person’s brain can change. These changes can manifest themselves in physical and psychological issues. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy aims to treat the body to help heal the mind.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy uses physical sensation to address the connection with emotional responses in individuals with trauma.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy’s goal is for you to manage the physical sensations that arise when confronted by things that remind you of your trauma. It also seeks to connect the mind and body to help you regulate yourself after experiencing trauma.
