Therapist Overview
Do you or a family member often have difficulties paying attention and staying focused during activities that are not enjoyable? There might be a need to depend on others more than you would like to stay organized and keep a schedule. Having these characteristics could be related to ADHD, and there is hope for managing the symptoms, when they significantly impact functioning at home, school, work, and in social settings. As an adult, I was diagnosed with ADHD and have a child with ADHD, so I can understand what you might be experiencing. Treatment places an emphasis on a person’s strengths, relative to learning styles. This include an individualized assessment. Interventions are based in mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as solution-focused therapy. Role playing and homework are used throughout treatment, to create success, in multiple settings outside therapy. I know you have tried to make sense of everything that is going on, and sometimes it’s helpful to get another perspective. Over the years, I have worked in homes, school settings, and nursing facilities. I currently integrate experiences from each of these settings, to provide a tailored approach to treatment that is best for each of my patients.
