Therapist Overview
Life as Art Studio was conceived to help individuals, families, groups and organizations find their truth, find their voice. The mission is to work together to unearth talents and unblock creativity. To do so I use primarily action methods through my extensive training in psychodrama. The belief is that most of us need to increase our spontaneity in order become more authentic, true to who we really are. We may suffer because we have lost or never found who that true self is. Maybe we have been taught to think we must be some one else’s idea of who and how we should be in the world. Emotional pain manifests in many ways: addictions, depression, unresolved grief, self-sabotage, under earning and debting, over eating, troubled interpersonal relationships and family conflict and health issues. My approach to healing is eclectic, psychodynamic and experiential. I respect 12 step recovery, spirituality and mind /body integration. What most of us want more than anything is to feel connected and appreciated for who we are. In our sessions together I will provide safety with well practiced clinical skills. It won’t always be easy but together we will find humor and joy and even a sense of playfulness in the process of your healing journey.
