I have been a therapist for over 35 years and believe that both individuals and couples can heal from dysfunctional relationships. “Know thyself” is a way in which to learn to cope with stressors that come your way. Understanding the baggage you carry, (we all have baggage), identifying our knee jerk reactions to other people, (rage, anger, fear, withdrawal) allows us to stop REACTING and teaches us to say how we feel in a healthy way. Addictions are our number one killer, and being fearful of expressing how you feel creates co-dependent relationships where much energy is focused on pleasing.
