Stephanie Preston-Hughes

I am a licensed mental health counselor specializing in care for LGBTQ+ clients, people in active recovery, and those seeking healing from difficult religious experiences. I have worked extensively in higher education, providing individual & group therapy and clinical supervision. I work with adolescents, college students and adults of all ages. I am passionate about helping people embrace their true selves through transitions like coming out, confirming their gender identity, getting sober, graduating from college, launching a new career path, beginning or ending relationships, and grieving the loss of a loved one. I advocate for marginalized populations and provide HRT and surgery letters for transgender individuals. I work with clients from a strengths approach while speaking the truth compassionately. I use tools of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT) to assist people in making meaningful change over time from the inside out.
