Good therapy has the potential to teach us something new about ourselves, and I’m interested in helping you discover what that might be for you. I work collaboratively to help you define your goals and how you’ll know that therapy is helping. Each one of us has a different idea of success; one size definitely does not fit all. My approach is warm, practical and focused on the present with an appreciation for the past. I blend a dynamic understanding of human development with awareness of the ways in which we adapt to and change our present circumstances. As a harm reduction psychotherapist, I also know that we cannot change unless we have a strong awareness of the purpose our current behavior serves. I’ll help you build that awareness, identifying what and how you would like to change, so that you can have the kinds of relationships you want, fulfillment in your work and a more positive sense of who you are in the world.
