There are times life runs smoothly and then an unexpected loss is experienced causing a grief reaction with many confusing and overwhelming emotions. The loss may be through the death of a loved one or a non death related loss such as job loss, loss of possessions, acquired disabilities, or life changing events. At times, a person may need guidance to help with those adjustments. Grief is complex affecting each one in their own unique way. Grief can affect a person physically, behaviorally,cognitively, and/ or spiritually. But grief is multidimensional involving culture, past history of losses and how the individual adjusted to them, personality, gender, belief system, just to name a few. The focus is empowering the client to identify their strengths & interests to help them through their experience and find new purpose and meaning in life.
