Therapist Overview
Finding a therapist who understands and is trained to diagnose and effectively treat OCD can be a challenge, especially in the Western Massachusetts area. I am a strength-based clinician trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and utilize exposure and response prevention (ERP) in my daily practice. I primarily treat adolescents and adults struggling with OCD and OCD related disorders. Because OCD often affects the family system, I regularly include family members in therapy sessions to educate them about the disorder and treatment and to help to alleviate family involvement in OCD symptoms. Being a part of the larger OCD community is important to me. I am a professional member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and have attended several annual IOCDF conferences and trainings. I also help organize and run the OCD Massachusetts Lecture Series at Smith College. Collaboratively, we can create a treatment plan that feels manageable and realistic and is driven by your goals and values. Building a solid therapeutic rapport is key to success through the therapeutic process to obtain progress and change. Please contact me to schedule an appointment if you feel we would be a good fit to work together.
