Men are less likely to seek out mental health therapists than other genders. Men must recognize seeking treatment for mental health concerns doesn’t make them less masculine or manly. It implies that they acknowledge that their health is vital.

Available Treatment Options

Counselors can help men work through the hesitancy to talk about mental health within therapy sessions. Some men may benefit from seeing a therapist who also identifies as a man, as the shared knowledge of the impact of their gender can facilitate the healing process.
