Bipolar Disorder (BD) is a mood disorder that causes episodes of depression and mania at various points. It can be severely debilitating to a person’s work, social, and personal life. Manic episodes may also include risky behavior, such as spending large sums of money, sexual activity, and drug use.

Therapist interventions for Bipolar Disorder aim to address problematic behaviors resulting from the disorder, either by behavioral or cognitive interventions or by examining past trauma or experiences that may have exacerbated the condition.
