My goal as a psychotherapist is to collaborate with you—to unlock access to your emotions and help you gain new awareness of the unconscious forces that shape your life. We’ll work together to discover what resources you already possess to heal yourself. My practice is rooted in humanistic tradition and informed by current neuroscience research. I am trained in EMDR, which was developed to treat single-event and complex trauma. No matter which approach to therapy we choose, my purpose is to help you have an experience of your emotions, rather than a conversation ABOUT them. The most important predictor of improvement in psychotherapy is a strong relationship between client and therapist. We are now prevented from developing such a relationship in person. I use specific techniques that make online psychotherapy an effective antidote to social distancing.
