We all struggle at times to learn from life and to become our best selves. As a young man I pursued a variety of strategies, healthy and unhealthy, to cope with my own struggles. I think we all do that. When I entered into psychotherapy for the first time I found the help that I needed to learn and to grow and to overcome the struggles that had been so overwhelming for me. I became a psychologist to pass on what had been so helpful for me. Psychotherapy is an honest relationship. Without judgment and without pressure to be different than who we really are, we look at ourselves honestly, seeking understanding, acceptance and change. It’s not for the feint of heart. But we don’t do it alone. Our therapist supports us as we grow. I work with individuals and couples to make these changes. The process may be brief or it may last a long time.
