Therapist Overview
I provide psychotherapy to adults presenting with relationship issues, fears, work dissatisfaction, anxiety, depression and trauma. I also work with clients who are dealing with life transitions and with identity and/or self-worth concerns. As a multicultural psychologist who has practiced in different geographical locations and in a range of settings, I strongly believe in an integrated approach to psychotherapy. I tailor my interventions to the client’s unique needs and life circumstances. My aim is to foster self-awareness, better communication with others, problem solving, stress management, and making better life decisions. I practice evidence-based treatment, including psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques. The work can focus on developing specific skills to cope with difficult feelings, or can be geared to explore obstacles and underlying issues that interfere with personal fulfillment. In addition to my private practice, I hold a faculty appointment and I am the Director of Clinical Training in the Counseling PhD program at NYU. I’ve worked in different clinical and research settings nationally and internationally. Prior to joining NYU, I spent 10 years in the department of Outpatient Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center.
