Therapist Overview
Sometimes we get stuck in the “spin cycle” of life causing us to feel overwhelmed and helpless. Often, we feel ready to change but aren’t sure of how or where to begin. Throughout our lives we experience events, some positive and some negative, that shape our lives and create patterns in our behavior. It is these patterns that define our relationship with ourselves and with others. I will help you utilize your own natural strengths and self-awareness to create healthier patterns in your life in a way that strengthens your identity and your relationships. I view problems from an attachment, trauma, and family systems perspective. I love working with families, kids and teens, and adults of all ages. I am trained in, EMDR, Sand Tray Therapy, Trauma and Resilience, and Gottman Level I Couples Therapy. I am currently increasing my knowledge in these areas: Interpersonal Neurobiology and Attachment, ADHD, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment and healing from childhood trauma. I am an authentic, compassionate, and inclusive therapist. From my own life experience, I know it can take courage to reach out for help and to begin the therapeutic journey. I am a person-centered therapist, which means I rely on your readiness to begin the counseling process, and I trust the pace that you set for the journey.
