Therapist Overview

I am a psychotherapist and work with adults, adolescents, couples and families providing both short-term and long term-psychotherapy. I practice therapy based on cognitive and relational theories, with a strengths-based approach geared to helping people reach their full potential in all life areas. I employ elements of motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and structural family therapy, and I am certified in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy by the Albert Ellis Institute. I also draw heavily from classic and existential philosophy, and other cultural influences including music and literature. I have experience working with individuals facing a wide range of issues, and I enjoy helping people improve their ability to cope with the challenges they face. I also possess valuable experience from my first career as a journalist and business executive, which helps me understand the pressures of modern urban life that underlie so much stress and anxiety. My goal is to help my clients regain control of their own lives in every sense, and it is my privilege to use my experience to help others in need. I believe we can train our minds to be our best friends instead of our worst enemies, and that properly motivated, anybody can do anything.
