Therapist Overview
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Dance/Movement Therapist. I specialize in trauma-informed care for children (especially ages birth-6 years old) and adults. My background includes working with children and adults who have experienced various forms of trauma, such as abuse, neglect, loss, and disrupted attachments, as well as supporting children on the autism spectrum. Our outward behaviors and physical manifestations are representative of what we are feeling and thinking. In order to understand the whole person and effect change, I believe it is important to address the underlying reasons for behaviors. I tailor interventions to meet you or your child’s needs and use movement, play, and talk therapy to nurture growth and understanding. Through play, children are able to express themselves and share their experiences, especially when trauma has occurred at a pre-verbal age. Movement therapy supports the expression of stored feelings and experiences. I wholeheartedly believe in the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for trust in any therapy session. I will follow you or your child’s lead while being transparent and open with what I am observing during sessions. I would love the opportunity to speak with you in order to discuss you or your child’s needs and answer any questions you may have.
