Therapist Overview
As an art therapist, I integrate the visual art process with counseling techniques to help clients communicate feelings and achieve their goals. Art therapy can help clients can practice mindfulness, make connections between the art process and their lives, and find meaning in what they make. Together, we can explore how artwork fits with thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I collaborate with my clients to help them grow, and tailor my approach to support each individual. I develop trusting relationships and create a warm, non-judgmental environment to facilitate growth, increase self-awareness, and explore feelings. I bring compassion, creativity, and authenticity to sessions. I work with children ages 6+, adolescents, and adults, including people experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, trauma, life transitions, those affected by a medical diagnosis, and individuals with developmental disabilities. No prior art experience is needed to participate in art therapy. I follow each client’s lead and celebrate strengths to build resilience. I value integrating client-centered, multicultural, and attachment frameworks. My experience includes 10+ years of community-focused work, using visual art to build connections and create change. As a Resident in Counseling, I practice under the supervision of Katie Clark, LPC.
