Therapist Overview
At its best, therapy fosters self-understanding, the capacity to change problematic patterns, and relief from symptoms that may interfere with living well. I work collaboratively with my clients to achieve these goals and I view the relationship between client and therapist as central to this work. As a client, you can expect a process in which you are genuinely heard and supported, but also encouraged to take difficult, potentially rewarding risks in the pursuit of your goals. I am a NYS-licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training in cognitive-behavioral approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I integrate other approaches with these and tailor therapy to the unique needs of each client. Clients struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or trauma may find my approach particularly helpful. I am a member of the psychiatry faculty private practice group at Upstate Medical University, where I also co-direct the student counseling service.
