Anxiety can feel overwhelming. And trying to manage worry, panic attacks, or obsessive compulsive disorder can be challenging. You may find that the harder you try, the more you fight, the worse it gets. Far too often well meaning friends and family members weigh-in and try to help by offering advice of their own: Don’t worry about it. Think about something else. Just try to relax. Unfortunately these suggestions are rarely helpful. The truth is, anxiety can be managed. The solutions, however, are often counterintuitive. I focus on helping people manage anxiety, panic, worry or OCD. In our meetings, we will work together and at your pace to identify values that are important in your life. We will develop goals and strategies to help you get there. We will look at what you’ve tried in the past that may not have been helpful, and identify interventions that will be. Managing anxiety is a solvable problem. It is also very common, and you are certainly not alone. My approach to helping my clients is solution focused and relational.
