Therapist Overview
As a solution-focused therapist, I believe that people have innate strengths and resources that can help them work toward goals in counseling. I provide individual, couples, and family counseling. Specialization areas include self worth, depression, relationship concerns, divorce recovery, military family issues, grief, trauma, and women’s issues. Canine-assisted counseling is the integration of a trained therapy dog into a goal-directed counseling process. My therapy dog, Ruggles, and I are a certified animal-assisted counseling team. Ruggles and I work together to help clients work toward goals through animal-assisted counseling interventions. Play therapy is a developmentally-based approach to working with kids and teens. I use toys, expressive art, music, sandtray, and other activities to promote healing and growth. Through play, children can learn to express emotions, enhance social skills, and build self-efficacy. I work with children ages 3 to 18.
