Therapist Overview
I’m a Jungian-oriented psychoanalyst working with adults who have concerns around relationships, self esteem, depression and anxiety, and life transitions. I don’t offer quick fixes, but I do offer a way for you to come to know yourself better and live your life more fully. This is the work of individuation, of becoming who you are and of meeting life as it is. I’ve trained with the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association in New York, and with Buddhist institutes in New York and Santa Fe. My primary orientation is Jungian, but my work is also informed by Zen Buddhist practice, and by other schools of psychoanalysis, in particular Lacan. We all have a side of ourselves we don’t know, and often don’t want to know, who speaks through dreams and the imagination. By ignoring it, we risk living a fragment of a life. So a big part of what we do is directed to your becoming more conscious of this other. Understanding the past might be useful, but the real part is claiming your present and future .
