Therapist Overview
Are you and your partner or family from different cultures? Have you been struggling with communication issues at home, work, or school? If so, I can help! I am a somatic therapist with a multicultural background. My passion is to support and empower individuals, couples, and families from minority groups to overcome challenges caused by cultural differences between partners, among family members, at work, and in the society at large. As an immigrant from Japan and a former interpreter/translator, I have been dedicating myself to bridge people from different backgrounds and improve their mutual understanding for almost 30 years. To our surprise, the key to better communication is NEITHER logic or eloquence BUT our ability to be aware of & to regulate activation level of the autonomic nervous system. I will teach you how to track your activation level with the traffic signal colors: Green: ready to connect and communicate, Yellow: ready to fight or flight, & Red: about to shut down. I will also teach you how to come back to the Green or a well-regulated zone, where you can communicate better with anyone you want to have mutually satisfying connection. To help you cultivate such capacity, I will use body-based mindfulness approaches; Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi, Brainspotting. Please book your 15-mins phone consultation form my website.
