Getting older is part of every person’s journey, and it comes with many rewards. But, we recognize that aging can bring unwanted burdens – new limitations, medical concerns, feeling overwhelmed and worried about day to day tasks. Maybe you’re caregiving for a loved one, or maybe you are a loved one frustrated with the challenges aging can bring. At American Elder Care, we listen, we work to create realistic goals that improve mood, decrease anxiousness and sadness, while focusing on creating improved quality of life and connection, giving peace of mind. I’m a LCSW with 13 years experience in the community. Much of that focus has been working with older adults, and the glaring need for mental health services inspired me to start this practice. I work with each client to meet them where they are at, focusing on being a good listener, advocate, and therapist to help maintain and/or improve quality of life. Untreated, or poorly treated, mental health symptoms increase doctor and emergency room visits, exacerbate medical illnesses, and rapidly decrease quality of life. American Elder Care Mental Health Services tackles this challenge and offers comprehensive mental health services – office and telehealth visits, and in-home visits with safety in mind.
