Therapist Overview

Seeking out an Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluation for your child can be a scary and overwhelming process. Often, and quite unfortunately, families are waiting for months at a time for these appointments to even occur. Through New Beginnings, Verbal Beginnings’ diagnostic program, I seek to help fill this gap and provide these services in a comfortable and supportive setting to help children obtain the intervention services they need. I first meet with parents/guardians to gain an in-depth understanding of their child’s developmental history. Next, I complete a thorough evaluation that includes assessment of cognitive, language, social-emotional, and adaptive functioning, along with administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition. Following the evaluation, I write a comprehensive report and meet with families to discuss results, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations for intervention. I take the time to outline areas of strength for your child as well as answer questions and discuss any areas of concern. I look forward to working with you and your family.
