Positive Psychology focuses on the positive influences in the client’s life, such as institutions, optimistic emotions, and character strengths.

Positive Psychology therapists believe that emotional and mental factors lead to happiness, so they help clients identify happiness from moment to moment.

Positive Psychology utilizes positive emotion, engagement, and meaning to enhance the client’s life. The therapist will ask the client to maintain a journal of positive experiences each day in detail. Keeping a gratitude journal helps rewire the brain, offsetting ruminations of negativity. The client becomes more attentive to their expectations and memories of events, creating a more balanced perspective.
