Are You Struggling With Racial Identity?

Discovering one’s racial identity is a process of introspection, an outward understanding of the social and political privileges in the world, and recognizing the implications that each has on one another as they relate to that individual.

Therapists and counselors make space for clients of color and white clients to understand how their racial identity impacts their lives, what privileges they do and do not have related to race, and how that impacts their mental health.

People exist at different stages in recognizing their racial identity, with some people unaware of how race affects their lives and others acutely aware due to the pervasiveness of discrimination.

Available Treatment Options

Counseling interventions include processing emotions related to racial identity, understanding the implications of the effects of race, and supporting growth and empowerment.

"Why should I go to therapy?" I remember asking myself that same question many years ago. Deciding to go to therapy isn’t easy. At other times, things are less clear. You sense that something is off, but can...
I started my private practice so that I can use my skills and knowledge to help others live the life they want. I once lived a life that was a lie. I worked jobs I did not want, made friends with people who I did not like, and studied topics that others told me to. One day, I woke up and realized I’m miserable. I learned that people often go to therapy confused and struggling between what they...
