Repeated panic attacks often qualify for a diagnosis of Panic Disorder, which includes having panic attacks and having significant fear or worry about future panic attacks. Panic attacks can present differently for people but often include a heightened sense of panic or worry, accelerated heartbeat, sweating, shaking, difficulty breathing, and chills.
Therapy for Panic Disorder may include addressing unresolved trauma that may have led to the disorder or cognitive and behavioral interventions that allow a person to examine their unhelpful patterns of thought and triggers and respond in new ways to troubling emotions or experiences.
