Are You Struggling With Codependency?

Codependency describes relationships where one person sacrifices their needs for the other, often leading to feelings of resentment, anxiety, and emptiness. Codependent relationships can occur between a parent and child, partners, or friends. These relationships may quickly spiral into toxicity and can leave one or both people hurt.

Available Treatment Options

Therapists for codependency involve examining a person’s thinking patterns to understand why they think and behave the way they do. Once this recognition sets in, people can then work toward changing their behavior. Other therapeutic techniques include practicing setting boundaries in the relationships, practicing self-care, and finding coping mechanisms that work when they feel intense emotions related to the relationship.

You've tried meeting with "trauma therapists," but it can be so hard to find the right person when you feel like they don't get your lifestyle. Moreso when you're a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, the kink community, or the ethical non-monogamy/poly community. Nobody should have to live with the pain of shame, sadness, worry, or mistrust that comes from having survived traumas. Everyone deser...
This is a huge step you have taken to begin your healing process! Childhood trauma disconnects us from the truth of who we are. We believe that somehow the hurt we experienced is our fault, we are not good enough, worthless, we don’t matter, or we should have tried harder, etc. Without healing, these beliefs follow us far into adulthood. We are left repeating dysfunctional family dynamics, copi...
